Victoria Racing

Victoria Racing Club

The Victoria Racing Club was established in 1864 when it commenced the management of Flemington Racecourse. Governed by a Board of Directors, elected by Members of the Club, the VRC has approximately 30,000 members, making it the largest member-based racing club in the world. Flemington Racecourse is the best-known metropolitan racecourse in Australia, with races run every year since 1840. With its superb facilities, Flemington hosts 23 race meetings every year, including the world-renown Melbourne Cup Carnival.

VU offers short courses, apprenticeships, certificates, diplomas, degrees and postgraduate studies across nine campuses and 7 offshore sites (China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka & Vietnam). It has a student population of 38,921 students and 1,920 staff. In 2018, VU’s launched the First Year (Block Mode) Model commenced, designed to enhance the experience of students, a first in Australia.

Western Health manages three acute public hospitals: Footscray Hospital at Footscray; Sunshine Hospital at St Albans; and the Williamstown Hospital. It also operates the Sunbury Day Hospital, and a Transition Care Program at Hazeldean in Williamstown. A wide range of community based services are also managed by Western Health, along with a large Drug and Alcohol Service. Services are provided to the western region of Melbourne which has a population of approximately 800,000 people.

Operating through a franchise agreement with the Victorian Government, Keolis Downer delivers a world-class service to more than 200 million passenger trips a year on the world’s oldest tram network.

Yarra Valley Water is Melbourne’s largest retail water utility, providing essential water and sanitation services to more than 1.9 million people. Their service area covers most of Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs, from Wallan in the north to Warburton in the east, across approximately 4,000 square kilometres.
